If you're looking for "total overhaul" mods or new kingdoms, then Nordlings is a great option - bear in mind it may not be completely compatible with other mods although it's pretty good about that.ĪCE isn't just a "must-have" mod, it's basically an officially endorsed expansion (just how Rayya's Children and Northern Alliance are actually dev-created mods which ship with the base game, ACE is a community-made mod designed to be modded on top of and made with assistance and support from the dev team.) ACE's goal isn't to be "the one mod to have everything", rather, it's a mod which gives other modders and players a ton of new tools but in a "shallow" way - they call it horizontal expansion - so that those tools can be used to give "depth" to other content. There are plenty of other great decoration mods, these ones are just ones I think work well with the base game regardless of personal preferences. Big and Small Maps lets you control map size, unlike a lot of other map resizing mods which just set it to a specific size.įor decoration/construction mods: Glassworks (heaps and heaps of awesome things to build, and a new class which requires a little more than just "place down the table and supply resources"), Home Sweet Home (furniture which makes your buildings feel lived-in and breaks up repetition), Settlement Decor (a wide range of furniture and decorations), and Gardens of Hearth all get my thumbs up. Treestump mod is super simple but once you use it you'll never want to play without it. Archipelago adds a ton of stuff (new biome, fisher class, a new campaign, lots of cool additions across the game but none which are "mandatory" to use.) Canyon is a cool biome to play in (works very well for RC) but doesn't add anything else, great if you want to change things up without worrying about compatability. Archipelago, Canyon Biome, Treestump Mod, and Big and Small Maps (all by BrunoSupremo) are mods I highly recommend.
